There is no doubt that there are many beautiful natural wonders that Mother Earth has to offer. With so many to see, the average person probably wouldn’t know where to start. Here are five natural wonders that everyone should go see at least once in their lifetime, some world known and some a little more underrated but just as awe-inspiring.
The Great Barrier Reef, Australia
A series of smaller reefs made out of coral, sand, and rock, the Great Barrier Reef stretches out an amazing 1,250 miles along the coast of Australia in the Pacific Ocean. The entire reef has not been explored yet, but for what has, the beauty is breathtaking.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park, California
Visitors can view 18,000 acres of ancient redwood trees along the 80 miles of hiking trail. Visitors would be amazed by the contrasting environment inside the park, with elevations ranging from sea level over 2,000 ft. and climate varying from warm, sunny, up high and damp, foggy down low all in the same day.
Mount Everest, Border between Nepal and Tibet
Part of the Himalayan Mountains, Mount Everest located between the border of Nepal and Tibet, is the highest peak in the world and is still getting taller. Mount Everest continues to grow two inches taller each year due to two plates of the Earth’s crust still pushing against one another.
Topsail Hill State Preserve, Florida
This northwest Florida treasure offers a three-mile stretch of sugary white sand beaches and vast dunes along the Gulf of Mexico. Topsail Hill not only offers vacationers a beautiful beach, it also offer boardwalks over protected dunes, miles of hiking trails and bike paths, and a great spot for fishing fanatics.
Big Bend National Park, Texas
This natural park draws tourists with its wild-west vistas, clean clear nights for stargazing and miles of challenging hikes. But what really draws your breath is the sheer isolation of 800,000 acres of natural wonder. One of the last remaining untouched environments in the United States, the experience of unmatched sights, sounds, and solitude cannot be denied.
