Fashion Tips to Make Yourself Look Taller

June 29th, 2010 Sue

Are you tired of trying to make yourself seem a little taller but not getting anywhere fast? Do not give up hope just yet as I have a few fashion tips that could help you. If you also exercise and have a good diet you can enhance the appearance more.

I know what you are thinking, what has diet and exercise got to do with giving the illusion of appearing taller? Well the diet part works like this. By having a diet that is full of nutrients such as calcium, amino acids, protein and the like you can effectively make your bones healthier and stronger. This will make you more upright in appearance.

Exercising regularly helps the bones too but also makes you slimmer. It is far easier to find clothes that make you appear taller when you are slimmer.

So now that is the diet and exercise out of the way what about the clothes you wear everyday? Do you wear shirts or pants with patterns on them?

Do you also wear two tone clothes or outfits that button up? Do you also wear tiny looking shoes? These are not good for you appearance. You are inadvertently making yourself look shorter.

Wearing two-tone colored clothing draws attention to the mid section of your body where the colors meet and this makes your legs appear smaller. Outfits with buttons or patterns do the same. It is more effective to blur the waistline as much as possible. Therefore you need a solid color scheme such as black or blue to make you appear taller.

A dark blue business suit can alter your appearance and make you seem taller as can striped clothing. Pinstripe suits or pants or vertical stripes on your stockings can make you look slimmer and taller.

High heel shoes obviously make you look taller as will shoes with the enhanced insoles in them. Bigger shoes can make your feet look bigger and this in turn can make you appear taller too.

Quality of Young Fashion Designer

June 23rd, 2010 Sue

As the saying goes, ‘Clothes make a gentleman’ (without being gender biased, lets add on ‘and a gentlewoman to it’!), over the years people have become conscious about their looks and one’s outfit is what plays a major role in it (with the right attitude, that is always needed).

Obvious as it seems, fashion designers are sought after greatly by the wealthy and the famous, as they are in the public attention and media focus constantly. A young fashion designer is a very nice term to be referred to but it isn’t as easy as one-two-three to be there.

Fashion designing can be defined as a practical art that involves design of fashion wear, garments, and clothes in general along with other lifestyle accessories.

A good fashion designer is paid heftily and what better than to be getting paid high when young. A good fashion designer needs oodles of talent and creativity coupled with some solid education and opportunities.

Education regarding fashion designing along with talent can make a young designer earn a fortune alongside fame and a crowd of admirers.

Many wannabe young fashion designers assume fashion designing to be a not-so-difficult profession to be in and a lot more young fashion designers neglect the need of a formal education in fashion designing. A fashion institute teaches a young fashion designer (aspirant) the basics of fashion- the clothing, the pattern making, sewing and so on.

Although, this isn’t a must, it enhances a young fashion designer’s knowledge on fashion which can be helpful in the future. It boosts the morale of a designer and gets rid of the feeling of insecurity which many young fashion designers are bugged down with.

Today, young fashion designers are many in numbers and have a lot of opportunities in the world of fashion. New innovative designs, graphics and outfits come up every season. T-shirts, jeans, trousers, shirts, traditional wears, ethnic wears etc from around the world are experimented with to form unique attires unknown to the fashion world before.

Modern fashion designing has two categories, namely ‘haute couture’ and ‘ready to wear’. While ‘haute couture’ refers to the custom made and sewn outfits that is usually done for private clients, ‘ready to wear’ refers to the range of collections which aren’t custom made and which come in standard sizes and fitting.

A young fashion designer needs to have something which makes him/her stand out in the crowd. A young fashion designer can be called a pro, if he/she really re-defines fashion!!!

Porche

June 21st, 2010 Sue

When we pulled into Montezuma’s Castle there were two vintage Porches in the parking lot. I spoke to a guy that said he had seen about between there and Jerome. So there must have been a rally somewhere in the area.

THE SHOT THAT WAS MISSED – When we first drove in there was a nun in full habit standing next to this Porche. I would I loved to have gotten a photograph of her. We chatted with her later and this was not her car – darn, that would have been cool.

Women’s Fashion Shoes

June 19th, 2010 Sue

Money spent on bright colored shoes is safely invested in bright sandals and fun shoes. Think investment. Fashion shoes, if properly cared for, last a nice long time.

Sandals, evening shoes and fun shoes can all be chosen for their immediate use. Think trendy and unique when looking for a pair of shoes.

Evening shoe tips

Even if your dress is down to the floor, don’t think you can get away with just any old shoe when wearing a gorgeous gown. Those old black pumps just won’t do. Even if you do not get out much, a great pair of fashion shoes for evening are a necessary investment.

Putting on a great pair of fashion shoes is enough to signal the shift that is necessary when going out for the evening. Attitude is everything and evening fashion shoes can take you there.

*Low cut shoes and open strappy styles are more slimming than closed toed shoes. One of the best evening looks is a sling back style or any shoe with a angled strap.

*Flats or a low heel can give an evening trousers or suit, kicked back chic. Tall women can also wear flats with full, ankle length ballerina style skirts.

*Elegant closed style shoes can be cut in a dressy fabric for an evening impact. Patent leather, silk, satin or beaded fabrics look better than matte leather in an evening fashion shoe.

*Evening shoes don’t have to be black, in fact, silver or gold is just as classic. Go ahead and make your outfit really pop with a shiny boldly colored shoe.

Sandals

Sandals are another form of fashion shoe that can be chosen for the fun of it all. Shoes do not have to be all serious. Update your summer wardrobe simply be changing up your shoes. Neutral outfits look brand new when pairing them with bright sandals.

* If only neutral will do for you, a beige, khaki or nude sandal can be made more exciting by choosing neutral reptile. Fake snake and mock croc make a nice fashion shoe.

*White is not a neutral color in shoes. A bright white sandal is a fashion shoe statement.

Fun Shoes

Fun shoes like ballet flats, or wedges are nice options when getting ready for the day.

*Ballet Flats are great with cropped slim trousers and miniskirts.

*Wedges make chunky calves look slim, they even make the foot itself look smaller.

*Roman sandals and leather thongs with their free spirit look, go well with loose looks like caftans, summer linens and tunic dresses.

Comfort Tip

There most likely isn’t a woman alive who hasn’t suffered for beautiful shoes. Even if the fashion shoe you are considering purchasing is only for a special occasion, there are ways around pain.

*Getting the right size is most important. Feet actually grow as you age. Just because you were an 8 when you were twenty, does not mean you will still wear that size at forty.
