A car that runs 200 miles on compressed air.

Europe and the rest of the world are developing new technologies that will give them the economic edge in technology and products, as America unthinkingly erodes into a third world nation as our politicians who are beholden to fossil fuel companies, legislate for them to make billions of dollars. A car that runs on compressed air (that should be an American idea and benefit America’s economy), is a French invention that orchestrates old technologies into a new chassis. Behold this newsworthy clip (that is not ready for U.S. corporate controlled prime time news or even political debate) edited from HD Theater, “The Future Car: Fuel”. Just another example of how corporations who control our legislative and executive branches of government are misallocating our resources, treasury and wealth, to insure their short term wealth and global domination, as we deteriorate economically and do nothing to preserve our economic leadership. What is America doing with its “talents”

Backdating litigation fails to deliver

Backdating litigation fails to deliver

Two years ago, there was plenty of talk about how the backdating scandals would turn into a lawyers' picnic. Lawyers, who are always quick to find new ways of making a buck, were filing lawsuits and knocking on the doors of institutions that had deep enough pockets to fund protracted complicated cases.

But now the latest data suggests that the returns for investors from litigation have not been that flash.

A NERA Economic Consulting study reveals that settlements from backdating class actions have fallen way short of expectations. Only six cases have been settled so far, and five have been settled for less than 60 per cent of what was expected. In one case, involving memory chip technology vendor Rambus, it was settled for only 8 per cent of what was predicted.

NERA offers up two explanations. One is that backdating cases are perceived to be weaker one merits than other class actions. The second explanation is that the that the weakest cases have been the first to settle which, if true, means that future settlements might be more generous.

Another explanation is that a lot of these cases have been complicated and have required jurors to delve into the most obscure, complex issues and details to reach a verdict.

Naturopathic Doctors strongly suggest that we increase roughage (fiber) in our diets. The latest holistic medical research suggests the high incidence of heart disease, diabetes, bowel disease, hernia and diverticulitis in western countries on a lack of dietary fiber in the diet.

Dietary fiber amounts are now listed on most product labels in supermarkets.
It is suggested that we consume at least 35 grams of dietary fiber daily.
This amount can assist in re-establishing proper digestion in your body by toning and strengthening your bowel, eliminating harmful toxins. High Fiber Foods in Your Diet represent the revolutionary way for you to lose weight, prevent disease, stay slim and have

I Would Never Buy a Timeshare. Am I Wrong?

I Would Never Buy a Timeshare. Am I Wrong?

© Topato
When I hear the word “timeshare,” I hear “sucker.” Everything I read about timeshares is negative, from the fine print that trips you up in your contracts to the reduced flexibility in travel dates to the impossibility of ever unloading your timeshare at a decent price if you decide it’s not for you.

I know a lot of people with timeshares. And I smile along while they tell me about the timeshares and the good points about them – the “vacation club” that lets you go to many different destinations instead of the traditional idea of a single-location, the…. well, I can’t really remember any other upsides. Maybe it’s cheaper to have a timeshare than to plan your own vacation each year and pay full price? I really don’t know. I’ve never been able to understand the upside.

These people are seemingly intelligent, so I assume they see a benefit. But I don’t want to be rude, so I never delve into all my skepticisms about timeshares; otherwise it would seem that I’m implying they made a bad decision.

So I throw this question out to you. What are the upsides of a timeshare? Do you own a timeshare, or have you ever owned one? If timeshares are so great, why do they give you such a hard sell? Shouldn’t the wonders of the timeshare be so obvious that you don’t need to be sold so hard?

On the other side of the coin, if you have or have had a timeshare and regret it, I’d be interested to hear why. What made you think it was good to begin with, and what changed once you were actually an owner?

Little Ways to Say I Love You

May 22nd, 2008 Sue

Little Ways to Say I Love You

We all want the best relationships possible, don’t we? Often times, it’s the simplest of things that can throw a relationship off track, or for that matter, keep it solid. This is true whether your relationship is with your spouse, someone you are dating, or a friend.

I came across this article on “7 Ways to Improve Your Relationship” and think its great advice. It certainly follows the subject matter we’ve been discussing. We talked about kindness and break ups recently, but what about kindness in the everyday way we deal with the people in our life. Taking people for granted is a natural occurrence, but on those days when you can stop and really, truly, appreciate them…. wow, it makes such a difference.

It’s no secret that I dated for many years. Many, many…. many years! Haha. I was independent and didn’t want to settle for something that wasn’t quite right. On one hand, I had a blast dating. On the other hand, however, I began to wonder if there was someone right for me out there. I envisioned some great guy living across the globe wondering the same thing I was: Where is my soul mate?

I’m telling you all this to get you to look at your life as if those very special people you cherish weren’t there. How would you feel? What you do and say if you knew your time with them was short?

In case you need some inspiration, I’ve got another giveaway. The book Little Ways to Say “I Love You” has several examples of how to show your love for spouses, friends, kids, and yes, the people you are dating.

Want to win it? Simply leave a comment on this post and let me know you’d like it. Make sure to fill out your email address so I can contact you if you win. I’ll choose a winner at random on Friday, May 16th and will announce the winner the following Monday.
